One of the most common questions I get from seniors and parents is:
“What should she wear for senior pictures?”
The good news? You don’t need a closet full of outfits or anything trendy or overthought. The best senior photos happen when outfits feel comfortable, intentional, and true to who she is.
This session is a perfect example of how choosing just two great looks—one dressy, one casual—can create a beautiful, well-rounded gallery.
We started this session in a field, which is always a beautiful place for something soft and feminine.
She chose a flowy, off-the-shoulder floral dress, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The movement of the fabric, the gentle neckline, and the pattern all photographed beautifully against the open space and natural light.
Why this works:
This look felt elevated, classic, and still very much her.
For the beach portion of the session, she changed into jeans paired with a sweet, simple white top featuring eyelet lace details.
This is one of my favorite senior outfit combinations—especially for beach sessions. It’s casual, clean, and effortlessly pretty.
Why this works:
This look felt relaxed and confident, proving that casual doesn’t mean boring—and often ends up being a favorite.
The reason both of these outfits worked so well is simple: they felt like her.
When seniors feel comfortable, it shows. Confidence always photographs better than the “perfect” outfit. I always encourage seniors to choose pieces they already love wearing—not something completely out of character.
A great rule of thumb:
That balance creates a gallery that feels authentic and timeless.
During the field portion of the session, we also added cap and gown photos, and I’m always so glad when seniors choose to include them.
Cap and gown photos:
Adding just a few cap and gown images ensures this season is documented fully—without taking over the session.
Senior photos don’t require complicated styling. With just one casual look, one dressy look, and a cap and gown addition, you can create a gallery that feels complete, meaningful, and completely personal.
When outfits feel authentic, seniors feel confident—and that’s what truly makes photos shine 🤍 Still unsure about the perfect outfit choices for you? Let me help!
